Description

What is Tested?

This STI test discretely tests you for HIV, Herpes simplex virus (HSV 1 & HSV 2), Syphilis, Chlamydia trachomatis (Chlamydia), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gonorrhea), and Trichomonas vaginalis (Trichomoniasis).

HIV is a viral infection that attacks the immune system, leading to AIDS if untreated. Herpes simplex virus (HSV 1 & HSV 2) causes sores, typically around the mouth (HSV-1) or genital area (HSV-2), and remains dormant in the body. Syphilis is a bacterial infection that progresses through stages, causing sores, rashes, and potentially serious long-term damage if left untreated. Chlamydia trachomatis (Chlamydia) is a bacterial infection that often has no symptoms but can lead to infertility if not treated. Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gonorrhea) is another bacterial infection that can affect the genitals, rectum, and throat, sometimes causing painful urination or discharge. Trichomonas vaginalis (Trichomoniasis) is a parasitic infection that can cause discomfort, including itching or discharge, and can increase the risk of other STIs. All of these STIs can be managed or treated effectively with early detection and appropriate care.

How is it tested?

PCR testing for STI testing can be performed using both urine and blood samples to detect the genetic material (DNA or RNA) of pathogens responsible for infections. For urine samples, a first-morning sample is often collected to ensure higher concentrations of the pathogen, which is then processed in the lab to extract any bacterial or viral DNA or RNA. PCR amplifies even small amounts of genetic material for analysis, allowing for the detection of STIs like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, or Trichomoniasis. Urine samples are non-invasive and easy to collect, making them ideal for certain infections. For blood samples, PCR is used to detect infections like HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis by isolating and amplifying the DNA or RNA present in the blood. This method is highly sensitive and effective, allowing for early detection of infections that may not show obvious symptoms. PCR testing with either urine or blood is a highly accurate and reliable way to detect STIs, even in the absence of symptoms.

In simpler terms, we extract what we need to test from your sample, create copies of that material, and then analyze if the virus is present in any of those copies.

Do I need a Doctors’ Order to order this test?

Regulations vary by state and require a written or electronic request for patient testing. States that allow Direct Access Testing (DAT) are an exception to this rule – our consumers are allowed to take a test without a requisition authorized by a physician. Onsite Clinical Care works with a physician network to authorize tests in all states where our tests can be purchased.

Simply put, you don’t need a doctor’s order—we’ll take care of that for you!

Where is it tested?

After your sample is collected from the comfort of your home, it’s sent to one of our partner labs in either Washington State or Illinois. Why two locations? To efficiently manage the high volume of samples, we’ve partnered with labs in both states to ensure quick processing and timely results. Rest assured, your sample is handled by CLIA and COLA-certified facilities, meeting rigorous quality standards that go above and beyond.

Is this test covered by Insurance?

We encourage customers to submit claims to their insurance providers but cannot guarantee approval. Since our at-home kits eliminate the need for a doctor’s visit, insurance coverage may vary. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to explore coverage and reimbursement options for our services. If you choose to pursue this route, a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Why do you offer this test?

We offer STI tests because we understand how uncomfortable and embarrassing it can feel to talk about sexual health. Our goal is to create a safe, confidential environment where you can get tested discreetly, without judgment. We believe that everyone deserves peace of mind and the opportunity to take control of their health, and by offering easy and accessible testing, we want to help break the stigma around STIs and make it easier for you to prioritize your well-being.

Sustainability & Care

Our kit is designed with sustainability in mind, leaving behind minimal waste. Nearly all components are either used during testing or returned to our laboratory, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Unlike others, we avoid unnecessary packaging or decorative materials, focusing instead on reducing environmental impact. It might not be the flashiest kit, but it’s a thoughtful step toward a greener future.

At Onsite Clinical Care, we are committed to making healthcare simple and accessible for everyone across the U.S. That’s why we prioritize convenience with home sample collections that don’t require a doctor’s order—bringing care directly to you.

I’ve had bad experiences with in-person clinics so I tried this kit. It took all the anxiety out of getting tested. I didn’t have to forever to see a doctor let alone know my results. I’ll always recommend these kits, especially if you’re a woman who’s debating seeing a doctor.

  5. Verified Customer

The kit arrived quickly and was easy to use, with clear instructions. However, the results took longer than I anticipated to arrive, which was quite stressful. When the results did come in, they were clear and easy to understand, but the delay made the waiting period nerve-wracking. I recognize the anxiety is on my end, but would appreciate it if there was more follow-up on the status of my test.

  6. Verified Customer

Very user-friendly and the instructions were easy to follow. I liked how discrete the entire process was, there was no way anyone could have known that I ordered an STI test and I was initially embarrassed to do so. I would use this again to start doing regular check-ups.

Something about this test made it feel a little gimmicky, but I did a deep dive on where they send their tests and everything checks out really well. Their customer service team was friendly and helpful when I reached out to them also. Would recommend for anyone who hasn’t gotten tested for a while

  21. Verified Customer

a friend of a friend actually recommended this to me. they mentioned that they saw this offered when they were purchasing a food sensitivity test and I had a recent scare recently.
