Description
What Is Tested?
This test assesses your bone health and it’s potential impact on conditions by measuring your Vitamin D Total, 25-hydroxy D2 and D3 Levels.
How is it tested?
Using Liquid Chromatography/Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is a highly accurate technique used to measure Vitamin D levels in blood samples. The process involves separating the different forms of Vitamin D in the blood using liquid chromatography. Once separated, the Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer detects and quantifies the specific levels of Vitamin D by measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of the molecules, providing precise and reliable results.
In simpler terms, we separate the different types of Vitamin D in your blood and then measure all of the totals. The best part? All we to complete this test is a few drops of blood.
Do I need a Doctors’ Order to order this test?
Regulations vary by state and require a written or electronic request for patient testing. States that allow Direct Access Testing (DAT) are an exception to this rule – our consumers are allowed to take a test without a requisition authorized by a physician. Onsite Clinical Care works with a physician network to authorize tests in all states where our tests can be purchased.
Simply put, you don’t need a doctor’s order—we’ll take care of that for you!
Where is it tested?
After your sample is collected from the comfort of your home, it’s sent to one of our partner labs in either Washington State or Illinois. Why two locations? To efficiently manage the high volume of samples, we’ve partnered with labs in both states to ensure quick processing and timely results. Rest assured, your sample is handled by CLIA and COLA-certified facilities, meeting rigorous quality standards that go above and beyond.
Is this test covered by Insurance?
We encourage customers to submit claims to their insurance providers but cannot guarantee approval. Since our at-home kits eliminate the need for a doctor’s visit, insurance coverage may vary. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to explore coverage and reimbursement options for our services. If you choose to pursue this route, a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
Why do you offer this test?
We offer Vitamin D tests because we understand how easy it is to overlook your vitamin levels, especially when you’re busy. Many people don’t realize how low Vitamin D can affect things like energy, mood, and overall health. By offering these tests, we help you understand your levels so you can take the right steps to feel your best—whether that’s through diet, supplements, or more time in the sun. We’re here to help you take control of your health and well-being.
Sustainability & Care
Our kit is designed with sustainability in mind, leaving behind minimal waste. Nearly all components are either used during testing or returned to our laboratory, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Unlike others, we avoid unnecessary packaging or decorative materials, focusing instead on reducing environmental impact. It might not be the flashiest kit, but it’s a thoughtful step toward a greener future.
At Onsite Clinical Care, we are committed to making healthcare simple and accessible for everyone across the U.S. That’s why we prioritize convenience with home sample collections that don’t require a doctor’s order—bringing care directly to you.

When to Consider Testing for Vitamin D Levels
You might want to check your Vitamin D levels if you:
- Spend little time outdoors or avoid sunlight.
- Are over the age of 50, as the body’s ability to produce Vitamin D decreases with age.
- Have a medical condition that affects nutrient absorption (e.g., Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, or IBS).
Testing can help identify deficiencies early and allow for appropriate dietary, supplement, or lifestyle adjustments.

Didn’t know if I wanted to get this because this test seems to have the least amount of reviews – but I was encouraged to check my Vitamin D level and this was on sale. Definitely did the job!! A bit pricey when it’s not on sale

Started to feel weird and my doctor recommended a vitamin D test. He was going to send me to get a vial sample but I don’t like large needles. This was a healthy compromise

upon receiving this test , the inside looks a little cheap but I guess you don’t need frills to be told how to prick your finger and send your results for a test. This was a nice test to have. the kits themselves could be nicer though

My results time took longer than i wanted
